This is a storyboard of initial sketches made while listening to the first 30 seconds of the song. I made these line sketches to map out the movements that I will use to animate the type.
Melissa is a multidisciplinary artist and designer from Detroit, currently based in Brooklyn, NY. She has worked in various marketing/advertising firms as a graphic designer, motion graphics animator, and video editor. Her work includes marketing and sales materials that cater to high-end clients including American Express, Lexus, Bombay, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. She has also edited short-form content from AMC, Fashion TV, and Luxury Explorer. Melissa’s recent achievements include producing a promo for RoomServiceTickets.com, animating a billboard for Orbitz, and customizing a promo for AMC’s hit show Rubicon. Her pieces have aired on major cable networks in upscale hotel rooms, sales conferences, events, and tradeshows across the U.S.
Prior to entering the work force, Melissa was involved in painting, dance, piano, and theater. She pursued her artistic goals throughout college and holds a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art/Graphic Design from Michigan State University and a Master of Fine Arts in Design & Technology from Parsons The New School for Design. Her academic experience has provided her with a solid foundation in design process, research, critique, and art history.
